DreamHost Review by Wes, June 5, 2008
You get a lot of features at a cheap price, but you probably won’t use too many of those features. My sites are down fairly regularly and their support is mediocre at best. When they are up, my sites do seem to load pretty fast compared with some of my other sites.

I have a couple different accounts with DreamHost and I believe that your experience with them is fully dependent on the server you are put on… some good, some bad. They do have a website devoted to updating you with problems… http://www.dreamhoststatus.com
For a budget host, they aren’t so bad.
DreamHost Review by Comer, February 3, 2009
Through the years, I have used a lot of different hosts and the one thing they have in common is that eventually they screw up. Sometimes, its not a big deal and some times its catastrophic. In the couple years I have been with Dreamhost, I have only had that experience once, which they corrected.
They have been reliable and customer support has been fine. For the price, its a good value.
